MEETING THE LENART TWIN HUNTING FAMILY

Hunters meet in various ways, and one of the important gatherings is with the hunters from LD Lenart. Mutual cooperation primarily takes place through joint hunts. LD Lenart organizes an annual traditional mallard duck hunt, while our hunting family hosts a joint big game hunt in their honor.

LGB KOZJAK COMPETITION

​

In our community, some aspects of the old hunting organization have been preserved. This is not because we oppose modernization but because of the long-standing tradition of neighboring hunting families gathering for meetings, hunts, and shooting plans. This has led to a traditional collaboration between LD Vurmat, LD Gaj nad Maribor, and LD Boč na Kozjak. Every year, these LDs organize a shooting competition and take turns hosting a hunting exhibition. These meetings of hunters have become a cherished tradition.

COMPETITIONS WITHIN THE MARIBOR REGIONAL HUNTING ASSOCIATION

Each year, LZ Maribor organizes various events for hunters. Among these are competitions in which members of our LD actively participate. These include shooting matches, fishing competitions, hunting goulash cooking contests, and more. Such competitions provide an opportunity for socializing, and the gatherings of hunters foster progress in mutual cooperation.

MEETING OF HUNTERS, FARMERS, LAND, AND FOREST OWNERS

​

Our hunting family traditionally invites all farmers and land and forest owners to an annual meeting at the hunting lodge. During the event, we organize an entertaining, cultural, or educational program to facilitate socializing and strengthen ties between hunters and farmers. The wildlife we manage grazes on your land as well as ours. Each year, the LD elder oversees this activity. Discussions often focus on various topics, with the issue of damages being a key concern. Game damage remains a pressing problem not only for us but for other LDs as well.

 

 

COLLABORATION WITH PRIMARY SCHOOL SELNICA OB DRAVA

LD collaborates with Elementary School Selnica ob Drava on numerous occasions, presenting aspects of our activities to the students. The children are introduced to wildlife, the LD, the work of hunters, and all things related to hunting. During their visit, students explore hunting literature and are often given some materials to take home after experiencing a hunting stand firsthand.
